Caterina "GiGi" Bertolini D'Amico, a Wappingers Falls, NY resident for 40 years and formerly of the Bronx, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 75.

Daughter of the late Natale and Celide (Baccilli) Bertolini, she was born in Italy on May 4, 1948. Her family emigrated to the United States when she was a child.

Caterina was a talented artist who enjoyed painting and drawing. She was also a great cook and always loved preparing meals for her family and friends. GiGi will be remembered as a selfless and charitable person who accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and who donated to countless organizations and always put the needs of others before her own.

On September 4, 1973, she married Rudy D'Amico in LaGrange, NY. Rudy survives at home in Wappingers Falls.

Additional survivors include her daughter, Daniela D'Amico; her grandchildren, Pino Gallagher, Lucianna Gallagher, Caterina Gallagher, and James Gallagher; her great-granddaughter, Ilaria Dejesus; her brother, Dominick Bertolini & his wife Susan; her siblings-in-law, Caterina Bertolini, Vincenza Picco, and Michael D'Amico; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.

In addition to her parents, Caterina was also predeceased by her brother, Pietro Bertolini.

Calling hours will be held from 12pm – 2pm on Friday, July 21 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A funeral service will begin at 12pm immediately following the visitation. Interment will follow at Wappingers Falls Rural Cemetery, 200 W. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY.
