WAPPINGERS FALLS – Catherine M. Hynes DeSimone, 50, a lifelong resident of the Poughkeepsie area, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at home.

Born in the Bronx on May 19, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Eileen (Sheehy) Hynes. Cathy had been employed as a waitress at the Acropolis Diner in Poughkeepsie.

She is survived by her son, Christopher DeSimone; her sisters and their spouses, Mary and Donald Booth of Hudson, Anne Marie Leroy and Dwayne Nava of Staatsburg, and Eileen and John Nittolo of Hyde Park; her nieces and nephews, Jimmy and Joey Leroy, Erica Bush and her husband Dan, Angela and Marissa Nittolo, and Kaitlyn Booth; and her great-niece and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will follow at 5 pm.
