WAPPINGERS FALLS – Catherine K. Lindstrom, 78, an area resident since 1963 and formerly of West Babylon, died on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.

Cathy was born in Queens on October 19, 1942, the daughter of Joseph and Teresia (Rossner) Klaus. She graduated from West Babylon High School in 1960. She attended Adelphi College and State University of New York - Long Island Center, where she met her husband, Gary J. Lindstrom. They were married on June 29, 1963 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Lindenhurst.

Cathy's career was spent in banking. She worked for several banks including the Bank of Huntington, Marine Midland Bank, Mid Hudson Savings Bank, Matteawan Federal Credit Union, Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, and HSBC.

Cathy and Gary fell in love thanks to their Studebakers. They devoted much of their lives to all things involving Studebakers. She was a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club, Inc. since 1968.

Cathy is survived by her husband Gary at home. She is also survived by a niece and two nephews who reside in Ohio and Florida, in addition to several cousins throughout Germany and California.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Teresia Klaus, as well as her companion "Bear", a Leonberger.

Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 5 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. immediately following the calling hours. Entombment will be in the Community Mausoleum at Fishkill Rural Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required and capacity may be limited. All attendees should be prepared for potential extended waiting periods.
