Catherine Marie Russell, 75, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at her home in Hopewell Junction. She died in the arms of her loving husband William C. Russell after a long illness with Alzheimer's disease. She is formerly of Chestnut Ridge and Binghamton.

Born in Binghamton on November 15, 1938, she was the daughter of William and Rosemary Cleary Bennett. Cathy spent the last 27 years of her over 50 year career as a hair stylist in a labor of love at the Marlene Weber Day Spa in Poughkeepsie. Besides being a talented hair stylist, she was a gifted artist, cook and gardener as well as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

On September 2, 1961 in Binghamton, Cathy married Bill Russell. She is also survived by her children and their spouses, Lynn and Jim Noble of West Milford, NJ, Jenifer and Frank Petrocca of North Caldwell, NJ, Jill and Corby Rose of Wappingers Falls, Kevin and Stacey Russell of Parlin, NJ; her grandchildren, Brian, Kevin and Jeremy Noble, Frankie, Nick and Jaime Petrocca, Brendan Rose, Lucas and Colin Russell; her brothers, William, Richard and Dennis Bennett; her sister Lisa O'Keefe; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Anita Svoboda; and her brother, Michael Bennett. She was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.

The family would like to sincerely thank the many caregivers, nurses, and support groups of A&T Healthcare, St. Francis Home Care and Hospice for their wonderful service and care.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
