Catherine A. Sweeney, of Poughquag, a resident of Dutchess County for 15 years and formerly of Plant City, FL, died on Friday, July 27, 2012.

Born in Lawrence on August 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Helen (McCaffrey) Share. On April 30, 1966 in Hempstead, she married John J. Sweeney, who predeceased her in 1986.

Catherine was a parishioner at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.

She is survived by her children, Victoria Cardwell and her husband Tim of Plant City, FL, Helen Ambrosio and her husband Ron of Poughquag, and Romey Jenkins of Beacon; her grandchildren, Catherine and Brett Badalucca, Helen Judith Phillips, Melinda Williams, Christopher Ambrosio, Erin Amprosio, Justin Rumbold, and Erika, Sabrina, and Aubrey Jenkins; her great-grandchildren, Salone and Juliana Badalucca, Tori and Connor Cardwell, Jayden, Peyton, and Tyler Williams, and Reilley Rumbold; her brother, James Share; and her sister, Dorothea Carroccia. She was also predeceased by her son, Richard Badalucca on June 13, 2011.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 – 4 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will follow at 4pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park in Tampa, FL on Tuesday.
