Cecelia
Kraus
October 26, 1933 – July 30, 2025
Cecelia Theresa Kraus, 91, of Round Rock, TX, and for many cherished years a resident of Stormville , NY, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025 with her loving daughter and son-in-law by her side.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on October 26, 1933 to John and Mary Mullen Corbett, Cecelia grew up with a deep sense of family, faith, and kindness that she carried with her throughout her life. She was the devoted wife of the late Gerard A. Kraus, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure.
Before moving to Texas, Cecelia was an active member of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and the Stormville Fire Department community. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went, greeting everyone with warmth and genuine interest. Her love of travel took her to many places, but none more dear to her than Ireland, where she found joy in visiting her fathers childhood home.
Cecelia treasured life's simple pleasures - playing bingo and cards, moments spent around the table with family, and countless afternoons cheering for the Yankees alongside her son-in-law, Peter. Her presence was a source of comfort, her laughter a spark that lit up every gathering.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Gerard K. Kraus and his wife, Jane, of Killeen, TX; Mary DiMarco and her husband, Robert, of Bluffton, SC; Kathleen Parchinski and her husband, Christopher, of Stratford, CT; Cecelia Casini and her husband, Peter, of Pflugerville, TX; and Richard Kraus and his wife, Deana, of Ballston Spa, NY. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Joseph Kraus, Stephen Kraus, Alexander Parchinski, Dayna DiMarco, Kyle Parchinski, and Erin Parchinski; her great-granddaughter, Jamie Kraus; her siblings John Corbett (Anne), James Corbett (Kathy), and Patrick Corbett (Marit); as well as countless nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
Cecelia was welcomed into eternal rest by her sister, Genevieve "Jane" Carr, and her brothers, Daniel and Michael Corbett.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday March 27, 2026 from 10-11 am with a funeral service beginning at 11 am, followed by interment at St. Denis Cemetery 604 Beekman Road Hopewell Junction, NY.
