Obituary

Charles A. Barola, 46, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Poughkeepsie on February 4, 1964, he was the son of Charles M. Barola of Hopewell Junction and the late Mary T. Bauer Barola. He was a 1982 graduate of John Jay High School and a 1995 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Charley, a chef, was the owner and operator of Creative Caterers of the Hudson Valley and also owned the Synergy Café at Gold's Gym. He was a member of the Whortlekill Rod & Gun Club and an avid fisherman.
On January 30, 1993 in Hopewell Junction, Charley married Rebecca Cammisa who survives at home. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his children, Charles N., Isabella and Ava Barola; his sisters, Barbara Pocorobba of Wappingers Falls and Dolores Crum of Sterling, VA; and his nieces and nephews, Justin, Roxanne, Joshua, Mary, Anna, Kristopher, Michelle, Jennifer, Frank, Christina, Danielle, Amanda, Scott and Allison. He was predeceased by his sister, Charlene Seguine.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
