Obituary

FISHKILL – Charles Gary Bleakley, 64, a Fishkill resident for the past 10 years, died on February 2, 2016 at his home.

Born in Yonkers on September 10, 1951, he was the son of the late Charles Rudolph and Marion (Chocklos) Bleakley. From 1971-2012, he served as a Sergeant in the US Army National Guard and was placed on active duty during the Vietnam War. Gary had been employed as a Corrections Officer for the Westchester County Department of Corrections for 25 years until his retirement in 2013.

Gary had been involved with the Bryn Mawr Boys and Girls Club in Yonkers. He was a member of the American Legion in Beacon and the NYS Federation of Police. Gary enjoyed billiards and muscle cars, as well as working in his yard.

Gary is survived by his wife, Linda M. Grubiak; his son, Christopher Bleakley and his wife Lauren of Yonkers; his daughter, Erica Bleakley and her fiance Alex Herdzik of Lloyd; his granddaughter, Chloe Noel Yagasits; and many other extended family members.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main St., Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10:30 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson St., Fishkill.
