Obituary

Charles Hunter "Chip" Hoagland, a Dutchess County resident since 1984, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from a rare progressive-degenerative neurological disease. He was 62.

Son of Elizabeth Jo Hunter and Charles B. Hoagland, he was born on October 1, 1950, and grew up in Bath, NY. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Pittman; his mother, three daughters, two sons, five grandchildren, two sisters, nephews, and many loving family and friends.

Chip was a carpenter. He specialized in historical restoration and restored quality homes in Dutchess County. He was a community activist and advocate. He participated in politics for the greatest good. He walked his talk and left his mark on the environment, education, equality, constitutional rights, and the aesthetic beauty of the community for its citizens.

Calling hours are 4 - 8 p.m. Monday, April 1 at McHoul Funeral Home, 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 at the funeral home.
