Charles Jones, 100, a resident of Stormville since 1992 and previously of Carmel, died on December 31, 2016 at Putnam Hospital Center.

Born on November 11, 1916 in Harriman, Charles was the son of Charles and Addie Jones. On November 22, 1936 in Brewster, Charles married Marguerite Tompkins who predeceased him in 2008.

Charles proudly served our country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He worked as a farm hand at Tilly Foster Farm in Carmel until his retirement in 1978.

Charles is survived by his children, Harriet Sterling of Lakeland, FL, Ralph Jones and his wife Edith of Whitesville, Bee Smith of Englewood, FL, Howard Jones of Lakeland, FL, Bobby Jones and his wife Cheryl of Randolph, VT, Margie Phillips and her husband George of Oneonta, and Jim Jones of Stormville; his 36 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Charles was predeceased by his children, Charles Jones, David Jones, and Connie Jones.
