Obituary

Charles "Charlie" William Nunno, age 63, of Tamarac, Florida, and formerly a resident of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on August 22, 2023. He was born in Yonkers, NY on October 8, 1959, to parents Leonard and Irene (Hermanspan) Nunno.

Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Charles became a Cement Mason for Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local Union No. 5, working in Westchester County and NYC. About 20 years ago, he moved to Pompano Beach, FL and worked at a golf magazine called Back Nine Publishing in advertising sales and was known as "The Closer."

Charles loved Halloween and horror movies. He loved sports, and could usually be found watching the Mets, Indianapolis Colts, Penn State football, and boxing.

Anyone who knew Charles would know that he was a larger-than-life character. He loved being with people, telling stories, and having a good time. His family will continue to tell his stories to keep his memory alive.

Charles is survived by his son Joshua Nunno of Hopewell Junction, NY; his partner and loving companion Karen Ross of Tamarac, FL, his father Leonard Nunno of Fort Pierce, FL; his siblings: Eileen Nunno (Kurt Allen) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Laura Nunno (Glenn Doughty) of LaGrangeville, NY, Christopher Nunno of Fishkill, NY, and Leonard Nunno, Jr. (Cheryl Hart) of Millbrook, NY; and his nieces and nephews: Ethan and Sarah Doughty, Cheyenne Allen, and Vincent Nunno.

He was a beloved member of The Hill, Midland Avenue in Yonkers, NY and a friend of Bill W's.

He was predeceased by his mother Irene Hermanspan Nunno in 2007, and his brother Michael Nunno in 1960.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 3rd from 2pm-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc. 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, September 4th at 10 am at Church of the Holy Trinity in Poughkeepsie, NY, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
