Charles F. Rama, "Charlie", was born on April 26, 1943 in New York, NY. He passed away on December 14, 2015 in Fort Lauderdale, FL after losing his battle with cancer. He was 72.
He is survived by his daughters, Christina Rama & Kami Rowan of North Carolina and Marlena & Joshua G. Indorf of Wappingers Falls. He was a very proud grandfather to Joshua and James Indorf. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Rama of Fort Lauderdale, FL, as well as his high school sweetheart Renee Istwan. He was a devoted father not just to his children, but served as a father figure for those who did not have one.
He was predeceased by his daughter Regina Rama in March 2010.
Charlie proudly served in the United States Navy and retired from Fishkill Correctional Facility where he attained the level of Sergeant before retiring to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Charlie will be remembered as always trying to do the right thing. He will be sorely missed by his family and by the many people whose lives he touched. He was a silent hero to many.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 27 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Memorial Service will begin at 5 p.m.
