Obituary

Charles J. Reilly, 80, a lifelong area resident, died on Monday, October 10, 2011, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Islip on April 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Charles Patrick and Katherine McDonald Reilly. He was educated in the Millbrook Schools. On July 4, 1954, he married Marlene Kniffin at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction. Mrs. Reilly survives at home.
Charles worked with his father and uncle as a contractor and carpenter with Reilly Homes. He was also the foreman at Blackwatch Farms on Robinson Lane in Wappingers Falls. Along with his co-worker Larry Burkowitz, he was a caretaker at the home of Princess Hussa Benkhild Abaddo of Saudia Arabia in Greenwich, CT. He was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction and a life member of the Whortlekill Rod and Gun Club in Hopewell Junction.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his children, Paul Reilly and his wife Wendy of Hopewell Junction, Culleen Casucci and her husband Carmine of the Town of Washington, Charles Reilly of Mabbettsville and Kimberly Henderson of Stanfordville; his grandchildren, Christopher Oliver, Paul Reilly Jr., Wayne Coffrin, Charles Reilly Jr., Joseph Reilly, Michael Winchcombe, Katlynn, Kyle, and Kollin Henderson, and Brian, Joey, and Carmine Casucci; his great-grandson, Michael Winchcombe III; his brother Francis "Butch" Reilly and his wife Diane of Staatsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff of the 7th floor unit at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6 – 9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by interment at Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
