Obituary

Charles Leslie Walker, Jr., 79, an area resident since 1940, died on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Mount Kisco on August 26, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles Leslie Walker, Sr. and Marguerita Olga Grebe. Charles was a graduate of the University Of Pennsylvania Wharton School Of Business and proudly served our country as a Captain in the US Air Force. He was the owner and operator of Fishkill Landing Lumber in Beacon for 20 years and then worked as an Account Executive for Emery & Webb Insurance in Fishkill until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Oasis Church and a former member of the Beacon School Board. He was a supporter of the Disabled American Veterans and the Boy Scouts of America.
On December 5, 1959 in Monroe, Charles married Helen Carlotta Neumann who survives at home. He is also survived by his sons and their wives, Charles III and Margit Walker of Fishkill and Stuart and Marcela Walker of Hopewell Junction; his grandchildren, Mary, Celeste, Charles IV, Carmen, Nicole and Mercedes Walker; and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert G. and Virginia Walker of North Carolina.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:30-7:30pm at the Oasis Church, 7 Delavan Avenue, Beacon followed by the memorial service at 7:30pm. There will be a graveside service with military honors on Tuesday at 11am at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Oasis Christian School, 7 Delavan Avenue, Beacon, NY 12508.
