Hopewell Junction- Chester T. Dziobkowski, a long-time resident of Hopewell Junction, NY passed away on March 27, 2024, at Sharon Hospital in Connecticut. He was 80 years old.
Chester was born on October 27, 1943, in Jersey City, NJ, the son of the late Chester W. and Jean (Kretkowski) Dziobkowski.
Chester received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Seton Hall University and went on to obtain his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Vermont.
Chester was a devout Catholic and a Parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell for over 40 years. He also taught Religious Education there for many years.
Chester started his career working at Lederle Laboratories. He worked for IBM as a Chemist for over 20 years and after his retirement went on to teach Chemistry at Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh.
For over 50 years, Chester was a member of the American Chemical Society. He was also a member of the local Ham Radio Club. He enjoyed woodworking and classic black and white movies. Chester loved Classical Music and World War II history. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family (including his dog.)
Chester is survived by his loving daughter Stephanie Blevins (Jason), his granddaughter AnnaBelle Blevins, his brother Robert (Mary Ellen) Dziobkowski, and his nephew Joseph Dziobkowski (Cheryl).
Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 4-7pm at McHoul Funeral Home Inc. 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10 am at St. Columba Church. Interment to follow at St. Augustine Cemetery, Ossining, NY.
