Chris Ann Mazzuca, 64, a resident of Poughquag for 10 years and formerly of Tappan, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2026. She was lovingly known as CHRISSYLICIOUS by all who loved her.
Born in Jersey City, NJ on November 13, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Sukanytz) Pojafsky. She was raised in Congers. She had a passion for helping others, serving as an Administrative Assistant for Montefiore in Nyack, and an EMT with Congers - Valley Cottage Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Chrissy was a devoted parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction. She was a member of the Columbiettes of St. Mary's Council #4065, Knights of Columbus and had the honor of serving as the First Lady of the East Coast Division and New York State Knights on Bikes.
On December 3, 2022 at St. Denis Church, Chrissy married Anthony Mazzuca who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughter, Theresa Burak and her husband Christian; her grandchildren whom she cherished, Addelyn and Noah; her adopted daughter, Jen Aravena; her sister, Alexis Pofjasky; her nieces and nephews, Brad Taylor, Stacey Lustig, Kelsey Pojafsky, Nicole Santiago, Tanya Deliolio, Angela Deliolio and Finn Tracy; her fur babies, Hercules and Apollo; her fur grand baby, Penelope; and many other loving family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Paul Pojafksy; and her fur baby, Snowball.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 8 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
