Christian I. Pulst, Jr., 68, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 42 years and previously of Ossining and the Bronx, died on August 26, 2016 at Calvary Hospital.
Born on September 12, 1947 in the Bronx, Chris was the son of Christian I. and Audrey (Caterson) Pulst. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and frequently attended the Vietnam Veterans' Reunions. He was the owner and operator of C&C Painting in Hopewell Junction until his retirement in 2009. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Whortlekill Rod & Gun Club.
On May 12, 1971 in Croton-on-Hudson, he married Christina M. Sullivan who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Sherrie Rider of Hopewell Junction, Kristen and Michael Bo of Fishkill, Kasey and Michael Smith of Hopewell Junction, Christian Pulst III of Hopewell Junction, and Jamie and Michael Limer of Fishkill; his sisters, Lynda Long, Kathi Olivieri, Jeani Granelli, Heidi Pulst and Elizabeth Pulst; 12 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11am at the funeral home followed by interment in Clove Cemetery with military honors.
