Obituary

Christina Marie Fisher, 43, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1971 and formerly of the Bronx, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in the Bronx on May 10, 1969, she was the daughter of the late David T. and Nora Theresa Hussey Flynn. Christina was a 1987 graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School and received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from SUNY Brockport. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Vassar Brothers Surgical Center and then as a Nursing Instructor for Dutchess County BOCES. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. She loved traveling especially to the Outer Banks and going to concerts. She was a great communicator who kept in touch with many people who touched her life throughout the years.
On May 18, 2002 at St. Columba Church, Christina married the love of her life and best friend Robert E. Fisher, Jr. who survives at home. She is also survived by her brother, David Flynn and his wife Jenny of Oneonta; her niece, Emily Flynn; her nephew, Joshua Flynn; her father-in-law, Robert Fisher Sr. of St. Johnsville; and many wonderful friends.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Vassar Brothers Medical Center South Circle 5 and CCU, and the staff of Hudson Valley Hematology and Oncology of Fishkill for their care and support. Christina will always be remembered for her wisdom, strength, quick wit, courage, laugh and never-ending optimism.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
