LAGRANGE - Christine C. Paravati died peacefully at ArchCare Ferncliff Nursing Home on her 78th birthday, July 19, 2025 surrounded by her family. An area resident since 1998, she previously lived in the Bronx, Yorktown Heights and Tobyhanna, PA.
Born on July 19, 1947, Christine was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Grasso) Cerrato. She was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. Christine enjoyed playing the piano, the organ, and the accordion. She also liked playing cards and reading, and spent a lot of time tending her many house plants.
On April 11, 1964 at St. Lucy's Church in the Bronx, she married Joseph S. Paravati who survives at Ferncliff Nursing Home after 61 years of marriage. She is also survived by her children, Joseph Paravati, Jr. and his wife Terriann of LaGrange, David Paravati of LaGrange, and Deborah Paravati of Carmel; and her sister, Phyllis Mills of Meridan, CT. In addition to her parents, Christine was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Peter Reagan.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 24th from 4 - 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, July 25th at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
