HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Christopher J. McGovern, 63, an area resident for 20 years, died on July 3, 2021 at home. He previously lived in Carmel.

Born in Carmel on January 7, 1958, Christopher was the son of the late James and Linda (Romano) McGovern. He was employed by Grand Union in Westchester and Putnam Counties for over 30 years, and most recently was employed as a finance manager for Healey Ford in Beacon for the last 5 years.

An avid fan of the New York Jets and New York Yankees, Christopher also enjoyed golfing and skiing. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially vacationing in Disneyworld and swimming in the pool with his grandchildren.

On August 22, 1980 at Santa Maria Church in the Bronx, Christopher married Kim (Conciatori) McGovern who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Karen and Raymond Gertner of Poughquag and Michael and Jessica McGovern of Hopewell Junction; his grandchildren, Mikaela Gertner and Lily McGovern; his siblings and their spouses, Denise and David Burke and Jeff and Jackie McGovern; the entire Conciatori family; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
