Christopher Mcloughlin,
Sr.
March 18, 1946 – August 26, 2025
LAGRANGEVILLE - A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Christopher Gerard McLoughlin, Sr., 79, left this world surrounded by his devoted wife and loving family on August 26, 2025 in his home.
Chris was born on March 18, 1946, in County Leitrim, Ireland. He was the son of the late Thomas and Monica (Moran) McLoughlin. He came to the United States in 1970, first settling in the Bronx. He spent 30 years working as an engineer there. But it was here in Dutchess County, he built his life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. He married his hometown love and soulmate Mary in 1971, with whom he shared 54 beautiful years of marriage. She was not only the love of his life, but his tireless caregiver and companion, standing by his side with unwavering devotion for the last 22 years of his life. A true example of selfless love.
His greatest joy came from spending time with the people he loved most. A devoted family man, his life was built around his wife, four children and ten grandchildren. Whether it was fishing, watching sports, telling stories, sharing his words of wisdom or having a waltz with his wife in the kitchen, he found beauty in every moment shared with his loved ones.
Christopher is survived by his wife, Mary (Moran) McLoughlin at home; his children and their spouses, Christopher and Kimberly McLoughlin of Yonkers, Kieran and Dana McLoughlin of LaGrangeville, Sinead and Anthony Parisi of Poughquag, and Peter and Ellha McLoughlin of Charleston, South Carolina; his grandchildren, Ashley, Caitlyn, Madeline, Christopher III, Jackie, Lauren, Seraphina, Giuliana, Isabella and Peter; his siblings, Nancy Duignan and Oliver McLoughlin; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Christopher was also predeceased by his siblings, Maureen Quigley, Emmet McLoughlin, Tommy McLoughlin, Brendan McLoughlin, Kevin McLoughlin, Aloysius McLoughlin, Kathleen Moran, and Monica Battles.
Calling hours will he held on Thursday, August 28th from 4 - 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, August 29th at 10 at St. Denis Cemetery, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
