EAST FISHKILL - Claire Castells, 74, an area resident since April 2013, passed away at home on Monday, September 4, 2023. She previously lived in the Bronx.

Born in Manhattan on Monday, September 27, 1948, Claire was the daughter of the late Francisco and Raffaella (Desiderio) Mojeda.

An avid reader, she was also an old-time movie buff and loved animals. Claire will be remembered as a dedicated wife and mother who loved her family, especially her grandchildren, above all else.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward Castells, who died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 after 47 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Castells-Ortlieb and her husband Chris of Brewster, NY; Lynda Castells-Monsolino and her husband Fred of Hopewell Junction, NY; and her grandchildren who affectionally called her "Mimi", Amanda Monsolino and Daniel Monsolino.
