Clare Mary McGrath Garrepy, 73, a resident of Marietta, GA, died on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Heritage Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Born on June 16, 1939, in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late Francis Michael McGrath and Mary Margret Greene McGrath. Clare graduated from Lowell State College with a degree in education. She taught elementary education in Tewksbury and Marblehead, MA. On August 18, 1962, at St. Margaret's Church in Lowell, Clare married Francis X. Garrepy, who predeceased her on January 14, 1977. Clare was a resident of LaGrangeville and Poughkeepsie, NY for 31 years, where she worked as a restaurant hostess for 14 years.
Clare is survived by her three children, Peter Francis, Stephen Christopher and his husband Michael Kevin, and Amy Elizabeth and her husband Peter J. Grosskamp. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Christopher Johannes Grosskamp, Emily Elizabeth Grosskamp, and Anthony James Garrepy. She is also survived by her sister, MaryAnn McGrath Day and her brother, Mark Joseph McGrath and predeceased by her brother, Edgar F. McGrath.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 19, 10:30 a.m., at St. Denis Catholic Church, 602 Beekman Rd., Hopewell Junction, New York 12533. Funeral arrangements are being made by McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY.
