Colette Frances Myers, a 45-year resident of Hopewell Junction, was welcomed into the Lord's embrace on August 5, 2026 in Lynchburg, Virginia, her home for the last 2 years.
Colette was born in the Bronx in 1947 to Robert and Blanche (Junge) Morrow, moving to Sleepy Hollow when she was nine years old. Colette's desire to help and care for people led her to St. Mary's School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse in 1969.
Colette met her husband Artie while working at St. Agnes Hospital and the two eventually made their way to Hopewell Junction where they became parishioners of St. Columba Parish. Colette went on to work faithfully at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie for 38 years. She was a beloved nurse, often getting stopped in public by people thanking her for taking such great care of them. Colette won the Sister Anne Elizabeth Award for excellence in nursing in 2007 and her name can be found on the wall at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.
She was a hard-working nurse and mother of five. Colette leaves behind her children Robert and Sharon Myers of Madison Heights, VA, Debra Murray of Pine Bush, NY, Brian and Amanda Myers of Lynchburg VA, Dianne and Chris Zanin of LaGrange, NY and David Myers of Lynchburg VA. She was also "Mego" to her grandkids: Erin, Bobby, Eric, Josh, Hunter, Hailey, Sebastian, Jessica, Orion, Sadie, Trulie, Evangelene, Elliot and Emmie. As well as her great-grandchildren: Grayson, Logan, Savannah, Adelaide, Mila, and Christopher. She will be missed by her brother Michael Morrow and her best friend of 70 years Dale Morrow, as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends. Colette was predeceased by her parents Bob and Blanche Morrow; her husband Arthur Myers; her dear sister Barbara Merrill; her Uncle "A" Emil Junge; and her son-in-law David Murray.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 9 from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
