Conrad John Guidice, 78, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 43 years, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. On Sunday, he took one last trip to the Rec for the Sons of Italy Festival to see all of his friends.
Born in Kilbirnie, Scotland on August 13, 1936, he was the son of Percy and Jane Daly Guidice. Conrad proudly served our country in the US Army and was employed by At&T in Queens as a serviceman for 20 years until his retirement in 1989. He then spent the next 20 years with the Town of East Fishkill Recreation Department until retiring once again in 2010. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church and a member of Joe DiMaggio Lodge, Sons of Italy. An avid fan of the New York Yankees and Giants, Conrad coached East Fishkill Girls' and Women's Softball for many years. He also enjoyed going on the town bus trips.
On October 29, 1960 in Yonkers, Conrad married Ellen Jane Gorey who predeceased him on January 17, 2001. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Michael and Karen Guidice of Houston, TX, Marianne and Steve Zajkowski of Culpeper, VA, Rich Guidice of New Market, NH, and Ellen and Rick Kingsley of Sparks, NV; his grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, Nicholas, Bobby, Zackery, Danica, Ryan, Nathan, Kannon and Kiefer; and his sisters, Margaret Christiano and Roberta Beairsto. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Patrick and Edward Guidice.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 3-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
