Mahopac- Constance O'Brien, a former resident of Mahopac and Yonkers, NY passed away on August 25, 2024 at Bowling Green Medical Center, Bowling Green, KY. She was 80 years old.

Constance was born on May 25, 1944, in Piraeus (Athens) Greece, the daughter of the late Spiros and Christine (Sarabales) Gerakas. In 1956, she immigrated to the United States, making Yonkers, NY her first home here in the states. Then moving on to Mahopac, NY to raise her family with her husband Thomas.

Constance was a longtime member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Danbury, CT.

She had a passion for decorating and interior design, which was her career for some time, but above that, her main passion was raising her children and taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking family dinners for them and teaching them about their Greek heritage.

She enjoyed gardening. Keeping a small vegetable garden at times, but mostly loved to plant and take care of her flowers. She loved rock and roll music, especially the bands ABBA and Air Supply.

Constance is survived by her children: Kevin O'Brien, Victor O'Brien and his wife Debi, Gregory O'Brien and Thomas O'Brien and his wife Nichole. Grandchildren: Patrick, Natalie, Eleanor and Luke. She also survived by a very special niece and caretaker Stephanie Barefoot.

She is pre-deceased by her grandson Matthew, brother Andrew, Daughter-in-law Victoria and niece Laura.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 10am to 11am at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church 30 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, CT. A service will begin at 11am in the church. Entombment to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 101 Mill Street, Putnam Valley, NY.

Memorial donations can be made in Constance's name to the Ladies Philoptochos Society through Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.
