Cornelius John Dore, A.k.a (Con Dor) 70, a resident of Wappingers Falls for 38 years and formerly of Yonkers, died on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Brooklyn on July 19, 1944, he was the son of Cornelius and Mary Lynch Dore. He proudly served our country in the US Army and had been employed as an installer for Verizon for 30 years until his retirement in 1998. Cornelius was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. He was an avid fisherman and often participated in shark tournaments. He was also a fan of the New York Giants and loved playing cards.
On September 24, 1966 at St. Peter's Church in Yonkers, Cornelius married Jean Coxen who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Kim Rabadi and her husband, Sam, Michael Dore , Sean Dore ,and Kelly DelCarpio and her husband James ; his beloved grandchildren, Parisa, Zachary, Alexya, and Skyla; and his siblings, Rick Dore , John Dore ,Maureen Singh, and Sheila Hicks. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his twin brother, Patrick Dore.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 103 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by military honors.
