POUGHKEEPSIE – Courtney Olivia Mahoney, 72, a resident of Dutchess County since 1990, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2022 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie. She previously lived in Westchester County.

Born on February 28, 1950 on St. Thomas, USVI, Courtney was the daughter of the late Ivan and Ina (Scarbriel) David. She had been employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Skyview Rehabilitation and Health Care in Croton-on-Hudson for over 40 years until her retirement.

Courtney listened to African and classical music, and was a fan of western movies especially Bonanza. She was very artistic, and enjoyed crocheting, painting, gardening, and poetry. She also liked to travel and go shopping. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren, at family BBQs and gatherings.

Courtney is survived by her children, Natalia Henry of Poughkeepsie, Rita Watt of Fishkill, Ina Mahoney of Beacon, Kelvin Mahoney Jr. and his significant other Donna Scovel of Poughkeepsie, Lorna Mahoney of Poughkeepsie, and Jacob Mahoney of Poughkeepsie; her 29 grandchildren, Maurice Jr., Matthew, Nathaniel, Olivia, Autumn, Ayanna, Isaac, Zhyirra, Allen, Marqueese, Siata, Jovan, Darian, Elijah, Malachi, Latima, Emmanuel, Ina, Jeremiah, Zachariah, Alissah, Zahnya, Kelvin III, Laya, Allir, Monasia, Zion, Jayla, and Jaycion; her great-grandchildren, Sariyah, Jamal Jr., and Monroe; her siblings, Milton David, Danny David, Wilfred David, Cheryl Watkins, and Dale David-Henry and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Kelvin Mahoney Sr., who died in 2006 after 33 years of marriage; and her siblings, Joseph, Ivan Jr., Liston, Melinda, Lorna, and Burton.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 10-11 am at Redeemed Christian Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy, 100 Cannon Street, Poughkeepsie followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Burial will follow at LaGrange Rural Cemetery.
