EAST FISHKILL – Daniel Cappiello, 72, an area resident for 28 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on August 20, 2021 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.

Born in the Bronx on February 2, 1949, he was the son of Vito and Mary (Lorusso) Cappiello. Daniel proudly served our country in the US Army. He was employed as a Mechanic A with Con Edison in the Bronx.

Dan was the kindest, most loving man. He gave to everyone before himself. He loved his family before anything and lived for his daughter Daniella. He will always be remembered for his sarcasm, dry humor and his contagious laugh. Dan loved pigeons and was the president of the Hudson Valley Pigeon Association.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Daniella Cappiello and her boyfriend, Joseph Egiziaco; his dear companion, Kathleen DiStasi, His nephew Gary Cappiello, and many other loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Yolanda (Echevarria) Cappiello on February 25, 2012; and his brother, Gary Cappiello.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
