Hillside Lake- Daniel Curtin, a resident of Hillside Lake previously from Putnam Lake, NY passed away on October 19, 2023, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Gardiner, NY. He was 32 years old.

Danny was born on October 31, 1990, in Carmel, NY, the son of Lisa Parisi Wilkinson and Paul Curtin.

He attended John Jay High School and most recently was attending Dutchess Community College to pursue his degree in Social Sciences. His dream was to use this degree to continue to help those in need, as he felt truly blessed and indebted to those who helped him find his path to have the incredible life he was living.

Danny loved helping others and giving back to his community. He was passionate about his work as a Peer Recovery Coach for Mental Health America in Poughkeepsie, NY and being part of Friends of Recovery.

He loved to listen to all kinds of music, he played guitar, he enjoyed fishing and being at the beach, cooking, gaming, making jokes and riding with his amazing group of friends. He was intensely devoted to his family, friends and coworkers. His greatest joy on earth was his new role as a dad to his beautiful son. He will be truly missed by all who were part of his life.

Danny is survived by his mother and stepfather Lisa (Parisi) and Gary Wilkinson, his father and stepmother Paul and Rosemary Curtin, his adoring 9-month-old son Daxton Daniel Curtin and his son's mother Amelia Younis. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Peggy Parisi and Vito Parisi, his stepsiblings Alexis and Billy Spinelli and Robert Wilkinson as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, friends and co-workers and his beloved dog Kali.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents Edwin and Joyce Curtin and his stepbrother Thomas Wilkinson.

Daniel's family would like to thank the staff of Mental Health America – Dutchess for all the support and generosity they have received from them.

They would also like to thank all of those along the way who helped him regain his path to beat the odds and become a success story.

Calling hours will be at McHoul Funeral Home Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY on Wednesday October 25, 2023, from 4pm-8pm. The family requests you dress casually. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 10am at St. Columba Church.
