FISHKILL - Daniel Kevin Donovan, a resident of Fishkill and formerly of Putnam Valley for more than 35 years, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was 85. Son of the late Daniel and Catherine (Murphy) Donovan, he was born in County Cork, Ireland on January 12, 1938. For 32 years, Daniel worked as an elevator mechanic for Millar Elevator Industries in New York City. He was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. His hobbies included watching boxing & kickboxing, gardening, and playing the accordion. He was also an avid New York Mets and New York Jets fan. More than anything else, however, he truly cherished being a grandfather and adored his eight grandchildren. On June 10, 1967, he married Nora Rogers at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church in the Bronx. Nora survives at home in Fishkill, NY. Additional survivors include his son, Kevin Donovan & his wife Jennifer of Plain City, OH; his son, John Donovan & his wife Jill of Highland Falls, NY; his daughter, Kathleen Losi of Cornwall, NY; his daughter, Noreen King of Geneva, IL; his grandchildren: Ciara Sako & her husband Matthew, Sean Donovan, Gabrielle Donovan, Eric Donovan, Tara Losi, Megan Losi, Aileen King, and Ryan King; as well as many other loving relatives & friends in Ireland. In addition to his parents, Daniel was also predeceased by three sisters and two brothers: Mary Donovan, Ann Martin, Kitty O'Reagan, Jerry Donovan, and Johnny Donovan. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 21 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 1055 Oregon Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
