Daniela Telzerow, 72, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 40 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on March 23, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Born in Puerto Rico on July 15, 1944, she was the daughter of Francisco and Herminia (Marquez) Sostre. Daniela was employed from the opening of JC Penney in Poughkeepsie for 27 years until her retirement in 2014 during which time she created many lifelong friendships. Her biggest pride and joy in life were her six granddaughters. She loved her grandchildren and never missed their activities including band, dance and numerous sporting events. Daniela was also an avid fan of the Mets.

On September 12, 1970 in the Bronx, Daniela married the love of her life, Raymond J. Telzerow Jr. For 46 years, they were inseparable and were often seen holding hands. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her children and their spouses, Regina and Michael Hichak of Pleasant Valley, and Raymond and Meghan Telzerow III of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren, Daniela, Lauren, Sydney, Julia Hichak and Ariana and Evelyn Telzerow; her siblings, Carlos Sostre and Felisa Goyco; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving sisters, Melanie Sostre and Louisa Ocasio.

She touched the lives of so many with her big heart, overwhelming kindness and enormous welcoming smile. The family would like to thank the staff of Vassar Brothers Medical Center RCU for their tremendous care and support.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be on Monday at 10am at the funeral home followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
