WAPPINGERS FALLS – Dara Faith Gray, 63, an area resident since 1990, previously of Brooklyn and Westchester, died peacefully at home on July 18, 2022 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Brooklyn on March 7, 1959, Dara was the daughter of the late William and Elaine (Walsh) Gray. She was employed as an environmental engineer for Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant in Buchanan. She truly enjoyed her time there where she made a lot of friends.
Dara enjoyed cooking, especially the "world's best pizza", reading, and attending cookouts with friends. She loved to travel with her family.
She is survived by her sister, Hope Gray of Beacon; her brother, Paul Gray and his wife Sandi Baker-Gray of Huntingtown, MD; her nieces and nephews, Abigail Hall of Portland, OR, Jenica Springer of Kauai, HI, Colin Gray of Huntingtown, MD, and Dylan Gray of Huntingtown, MD; her aunt and uncle, Jackie Mosher of Raleigh, NC and Domenico Petito of Rome, Italy; and her cousins, Carol O'Donnell and her husband Bruce of Kinderhook and Fiona and Frida Petito of New York City.
In addition to her parents, Dara was also predeceased by her sister, Charity Gray; her nephew, Aaron Gray; her uncle, Gerald Walsh; and her aunt, Dorothy Petito.
Visitation will be held on September 17, 2022 from 1:30-3:30 pm with a service at 3:30 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A reception will follow the services - If you plan on attending, please RSVP to Paul at spcdgray@verizon.net.
