Obituary

David J. Barlow passed away on November 22, 2024 at the age of 89. He was born on August 4, 1935 in Mt. Kisco, NY to the late Norman and Muriel (Judd) Barlow. On August 27, 1960, he married his loving wife Carol (Adams) Barlow at Lyall Memorial Federated Church in Millbrook.

David proudly served our country in the United States Army National Guard from 1959-1963. He worked for many years as a programmer at IBM, and in later years was a school bus driver for Millbrook and Arlington Central School District.

David was very active with Hopewell Reformed Church, including being a Treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent, and even singing in the funeral choir. In his spare time he loved to golf, go bowling, and travel.

David is survived by his wife Carol Barlow; his 4 children: Stephen Barlow and his wife Christine, Jennifer Vacanti and her husband Matthew, Jeffrey Barlow and his wife Laura, and Sarah Zingel and her husband Richard; his grandchildren: Cecelia, Vanessa, Sophia, Hunter and Michael; his brother Henry Barlow; as well as two nieces.

David was predeceased by his granddaughter Emma Grace Zingel in 2012.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday November 26, 2024 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will take place at 11am on Wednesday November 27, 2024 at Hopewell Reformed Church 143 Beekman Road Hopewell Junction, followed by burial at Hopewell Cemetery.
