David I. Garcia, 44, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 2006 and formerly of Stony Point and Ireland for 6 years, died on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center following a long illness.

Born in the Bronx on February 12, 1971, he was the son of Jesse Garcia of Delaware and Aileen Colon of White Plains. David was employed as an HVAC Tech with APA Heating and Cooling in Brewster. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church. He enjoyed fly fishing and golfing, and was extremely creative and artistic, designing crafts with his son that were often given as gifts.

On April 1, 1996 in Stony Point, David married Sharon Grant who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Grant Garcia; his sisters, Catherine Chagnon and her husband Daniel, and Alyssa Garcia; his nieces Isabelle, Sophia and Ava; and a large extended family and many friends.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
