HOPEWELL JUNCTION - David Allan Hildebrandt, 82, and his wife, Edna Partington Hildebrandt, 75, were tragically taken from us on December 20, 2025 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

David, a 20-year resident of Hopewell Junction was born in New Rochelle on August 14, 1943 to the late William and Janet (Izzo) Hildebrandt and grew up in Dobbs Ferry. After high school, he began working for S.P. Wall 5 and 10. Eventually, he became an electrician, a career he enjoyed all his life. He moved to Hopewell Junction in 2005 and decided to give back anyway he could, including volunteering at the Hopewell Depot as their electrician until its completion.

Edna, a lifelong area resident, was born in Newburgh on January 28, 1950 to the late Kenneth and Jeanette Partington. She retired from Fair-Rite Products in Wallkill, New York. She approached both work and life with dedication, warmth, and a sense of humor that never faded.

David and Edna were both life members of the Wiccopee Fire Department. David served as Treasurer and Trustee and Edna proudly served as an auxiliary member. David was also a member of the East Fishkill Fire Police, where he served as Treasurer.

David leaves behind his two sons, Jason Hildebrandt and his girlfriend Wendy McSpedon and Daniel Hildebrandt and his wife Leigh Anne; and his daughter, Katie Hildebrandt. He will be greatly missed by his granddaughters, Ashley and Sara, who he enjoyed spending time with.

Edna was the mother of two sons, David and Michael Moshinskie. She enjoyed adventures, but her favorite place on earth was Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where the ocean brought her peace and joy. There, she cherished time spent with her son David, his wife Heather, and her beloved granddaughters Alexis, Krysta (Ian Root), and Rachel. Edna was especially excited to meet her soon-to-be great-grandson, whom she already loved deeply. Edna is also survived by her siblings Jeannette, Kenneth Jr., David, and Matilda, along with nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She touched more lives than she ever realized, leaving behind kindness, laughter, and love wherever she went.

David enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales. He hardly ever missed the Stormville Flea Market and lamented its demise. His love of antique cars, mostly corvettes, was "his thing", and he enjoyed sharing this love with Edna.

Edna never met a stranger. She loved a good conversation, especially when paired with a cup of coffee, and she loved to laugh. She understood the importance of letting people know they were loved-something she did openly, knowing she had not always been given that chance herself. Her love was unconditional, honest, and deeply felt. She had a special bond with animals. She adored her dogs, Lady and Teddy, and lovingly fed the birds that visited her home. She also found great joy tending to her flower garden.

Both David and Edna were beautiful souls, who loved deeply and laughed often. They will be missed beyond words and remembered always.

Visitation will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Saturday, January 3rd from 2 - 4 pm with a firematic service and funeral service at 4pm. A reception will follow at the Wiccoppe Fire House.
