David S. Tolkan, 59, an area resident for 14 years and formerly of Queens, died on July 26, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family following a long illness.
Born on April 13, 1960 in Queens, he was the son of Norman and Lenore (Block) Tolkan. David had been employed as a sheet metal worker with Metro North Railroad in Poughkeepsie, and was a 25 year member of Local #28, Sheet Metal Workers Union.
David was a devoted softball Dad and #1 fan of his daughters. He was also a proud police Dad.
On June 26, 1999 in Queens, David married Mary Stewart who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters, Amanda Morin of Wappingers Falls, Jaimie Rose Morin of Poughkeepsie, Victoria “Toey” Tolkan of Madison, and Elizabeth “Booboo Girl” Tolkan of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Zachery Morin-Ramos and Peyton Goulburne; his faithful cat, Emmit; and his special Aunt Cindy and Uncle Al.
