POUGHQUAG – David M. Tracey, 71, passed away suddenly on September 28, 2023 at home. An area resident since 1978, he lived in Wappingers Falls before moving to Poughquag in 1984.

Born in Yonkers on October 22, 1951, he was the son of the late Dennis and Eleanor Tracey. David graduated from Gorton High School in Yonkers in 1969, and started working for ConEdison in 1972 retiring in 2007.

On May 14, 1977 at St. Ann's Church in Yonkers, David married the love of his life, Donna M. (Penna) Tracey who predeceased him on April 24, 2022.

In his younger years, David was a great baseball and softball player. He also loved fast and loud cars. Most of all, he loved getting away to one of his favorite places, Lake George.

David had a way about him that no matter what everything would be ok. He will be missed dearly, and his death has left a huge void.

David is survived by children who idolized him, David, Deirdre, and Dayle Tracey, all of Poughquag; his grandchildren who meant the world to him, Alexandra, Austin, and Logan Tracey; and his brother, Dennis A. Tracey.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by his younger brother Edward.
