Denise Ann Abbattista, 63, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1999 and formerly of Carmel and Harrison.

Born on March 23, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Amolia "Molly" (Cibelli) Abbattista.

Denise had been employed as a hostess at Woolworth's in Greenwich, CT for over 25 years until her retirement in 2011. She was an avid Yankees fan who enjoyed traveling especially going on cruises.

Denise is survived by her long time partner of 16 years, Marie Barrett at home; her sister, Lucille Littleton and her husband Edward of Westerly, RI; her niece, Danielle Rossi; her nephew, Thomas M. Vitello; her father-in-law, Efren S. Paras, Sr.; her sister-in-law, Liza Elsbree; her niece, Gabrielle Elsbree; her close friends, Meldy de los Santos and John Kanka; her dog, Ozzie; and many other family members and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.
