HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Denise M. Hicinbothem, 65, died on December 22, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center following a brief illness. An area resident for over 33 years, she previously lived in Mahopac.

Born in Buffalo, NY on March 20, 1960, Denise was the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Stanley) Schendel. She dedicated more than 40 years to her career as a dietitian and most recently served at the Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie.

Denise is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Nicole Hicinbothem and Daniel McGrath and Kelli Hicinbothem and Larry Cobb, Jr.; her grandchildren, Lawrence Cobb III< Ava Cobb, Emily McGrath, and Ryan McGrath; and her sister and her husband, Linda Schendel and Keith Abrams.

Denise was a hardworking woman who enjoyed visiting casinos and taking yearly trips to Florida with her sister. Above all else, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 27th from 5 - 9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. If sending flowers, the family asks that there be NO LILLIES due to a family allergy.
