In Loving Memory of Dennis Anthony Oleszczuk

Dennis Anthony Oleszczuk, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 77.

Dennis was born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 9,1948. It was in Brooklyn that he met his future wife, Margaret. The two were married on October 5, 1968, and began building a life and family together, moving from Brooklyn to Queens and then eventually settling in Hopewell Junction, New York, in 1986. They welcomed two children, Richard and Jennifer, along the way and shared nearly 60 years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. 

Dennis proudly served in the United States Navy and carried a deep love for his country throughout his life. He was a true patriot who was proud of his service and grateful for the freedom he helped defend. 

A devoted family man, Dennis treasured his time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his son, Richard and daughter-in-law, Deanna; his brother, William and his wife, Mabel; and his four cherished grandchildren, Kayley, Nathan, Andrew, and Morgan as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Jennifer, in 2023. The love he had for his children and grandchildren was evident in everything he did, and his family will carry that love with them always.

Dennis and Margaret also enjoyed their many trips and outings together, especially cruises and shorter trips to the casino with friends. Dennis seemed to know the rules to every game and was always happy to share his knowledge-whether anyone had asked for it or not. He loved going out to eat, trying new restaurants, and enjoying good food and great friends.  

Dennis was a lifelong football fan and a proud New York Giants supporter. He was a season ticket holder and especially enjoyed attending home games with his son, Rich, and his grandchildren. Those game days became special family traditions and memories that will be treasured for years to come. 

Perhaps what Dennis will be remembered for most was his sense of humor. He truly loved making people laugh and had a gift for bringing a smile to those around him. He could find an opportunity for a joke just about anywhere whether you were a friend, acquaintance or stranger and his laughter, humor, and unmistakable personality will be deeply missed. 

Dennis spent his career and a lot of his free time in the home improvement field, where his ability to work with his hands was put to good use. He was always ready to grab his tools and build, repair, or fix just about anything. If something needed to be done, Dennis was the person you could count on to figure it out. 

He also loved to dance, especially to Latin music, and never missed an opportunity to show off his moves. Whether at a family gathering or out with friends, Dennis danced with enthusiasm and joy. 

An animal lover at heart, Dennis had a special way with animals-and they loved him right back. His kindness toward them was just another reflection of the caring heart he brought to so many aspects of his life. 

There was his cooking - He loved preparing meals for his family and friends, taking pride in bringing everyone together around the table. His Christmas Eve dinners were especially meaningful, which became a cherished family tradition. Christmas Eve will never be quite the same without Dennis at the stove, sharing his food, his humor, and his love with everyone gathered around him. 

Dennis lived his life to the fullest, surrounded by people and things he loved. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, loyal friend, patriot, handyman, Giants fan, dancer, cook, animal lover-and, above all, someone who loved to make people laugh. 

His family and friends will miss his voice, his stories, his jokes, his dancing, and his presence. Most of all, they will miss simply having him there. 

Though Dennis may no longer be sitting at the table, cheering from the stands, working on a project, dancing to his favorite music, or making everyone laugh, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain with us forever.
 May he rest in peace, and may his memory always be a blessing. 

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10am - 12pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service at 12pm at the funeral home followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery. 

Memorial donations may be made in Dennis' memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
