DENNIS CONWAY REEDY
February 10, 1938 – October 27, 2022
A truly good man who is irreplaceable in our hearts. He gave his best at everything he did, and then tried to make it better. Dennis was a man of few words, but the ones he did say were truly meant. He had an excellent sense of humor, and his smile was the sweetest gift.
Throughout his life, Dennis enjoyed sports…… playing and coaching hockey, playing soccer and running. He won with joy and lost with grace. After his time of playing had passed, he loved supporting and cheering for those he loved (and the teams he loved) from the sidelines .
Dennis loved the outdoors. Whether on his feet or in a canoe, climbing a fire tower or camping in a tent; next to his family it was his favorite place. His love for nature extended to creatures big and small, as he was known for his unwavering kindness in helping animals in need. Quick-witted and a fountain of facts, he always had something to teach us about seemingly any topic one could imagine.
Dennis was born February 10 ,1938 in Brooklyn, NY to Helen (née Conway) and Vincent Gerard Reedy. He graduated from Brooklyn tech HS and NYU engineering college. He retired after a long and successful career with IBM.
Dennis is predeceased by his parents, his son Kevin, and his brothers Ronald and Michael.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Patricia, at home; daughter Kathleen Thompson (TN); son Dennis (Christine); Grandchildren: Meghan Lumia (Dave), Caitlin Barry (Bill Carr), Colleen Barry, Shannon Barry, Ian Reedy, Sara Coutermarsh (Cameron); and great-grandson Landon Lumia; Sisters: Patricia Kenemer, Wilma Nielson, Peggy (Brian) Dolan and Sheila Reedy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
