Dessie Cornelia Clark, a local area resident since 1968 and formerly of North Carolina, passed away at her home in Poughkeepsie, NY on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was 74.
Daughter of the late Eugene Archer and Norma Hale, she was born in Winton, NC on November 10, 1948.
Dessie partook in many activities such as puzzles, crosswords, and trips to the casino. She always enjoyed taking time to catch up with friends & family and cherished spending time with those she loved.
She worked as a Direct Support Professional for New Horizons Resources, Inc., retiring in 2015.
On March 21, 1969, she married Edward B. Clark in Wingdale, NY. Edward survives at home in Poughkeepsie.
Additional survivors include her daughter, Dina Clark of Hudson, NY; her son, Duane Clark & his wife Dena of Berlin, CT; her grandchildren, Philip Graben, Chanel Clark, Deion Taylor, Sydney Clark, Sadie Clark, and Elayna Clark; five great-grandchildren; her sisters, Patricia Richardson, Linda Tripp, Regina Monroe, Beverly Peden, and Jacqueline Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
Dessie was predeceased by her parents as well as her grandson, Trey Clark.
Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the caretakers and staff at Hudson Valley Hospice for their dedication to Dessie throughout her final days.
