Diane T. Hansen, 69, a resident of Dutchess County for 31 years and formerly of the Bronx, died peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at her home following a courageous 23 year battle with cancer.

Born in Manhattan on September 20, 1945, she was the daughter of William and Louise Croce Costa. Diane was an avid reader, loved to cook and enjoyed watching public television but most important to her were her two sons. She was a devoted mother with a huge heart who loved everybody including animals. Because of her sincere and kind-hearted spirit, she was loved by everyone she encountered and truly touched the lives of countless people.

Diane is survived by her sons, Matthew Hansen of Hopewell Junction, and John Hansen and his girlfriend Darlene Harrington of Wappingers Falls; her sister, Linda Shanahan and her husband Morris of Acworth, GA; her nieces and nephew, Dawn, Denise and Sean; and many other loyal family and friends including the Croce, Gasperini, Orsetti, and Villa families.

The family would like to thank Dr. Koh and his staff, and the late Dr. Perchick for their loving care and support of Diane throughout her illness.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc.
