FISHKILL – Diane Locoparra, a ten-year resident of Fishkill and formerly of Carmel, passed away suddenly on August 15, 2019 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was 60.
Daughter of the late Thomas and Irene (Gleason) Fitzgerald, she was born in Brooklyn on April 15, 1959. Diane worked in healthcare as a Licensed Practical Nurse, retiring in 2006.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred Sammarco, at home in Fishkill. Diane is also survived by her husband’s children and their spouses, Mary Patricia & Bruce Swanson, Robert & Chrissy Sammarco, Theresa & Daniel Hess, and Joe & Colleen Sammarco; her grandchildren, Victoria, Michael, Nicholas, Christopher, Hailey, Avery, and Luke; her brother, Mike Fitzgerald & his wife Anne; her nieces, Megan and Sarah; and many other relatives & friends.
Diane was predeceased by her grandson, Bruce Swanson, as well as her nephew, Timothy Fitzgerald.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 18 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 19 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Entombment will be in the Community Mausoleum at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
