WAPPINGERS FALLS –Diann R. Callahan, 79, an area resident since 1973, passed away on March 26, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.

Born on October 11, 1944 in Portland, OR, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Caputo) Salaun.  On June 3, 1967 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in the Bronx, Diann married Raoul "Skip" Callahan who predeceased her in 2019, after 52 years of marriage.
Diann loved spending time and sharing laughs with her family around the table, Strategizing her ways to cheat through game nights, Sunday football and her late night game shows on TV.

She is survived by her children, Michael Callahan of Hopewell Jct, Christine Callahan of Hopewell Jct, Diann Bush and her husband Louis Bush, Jr. of Catskill, and Joseph Callahan of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Ashley Rosario and her husband Luis, Louis Bush III, Connor Callahan, and Evyn Callahan; her great-grandchildren, Jaxsen and Brysen; her siblings, Michael Salaun and his wife Lucy, Frances Salaun, Susan Alinovi and her husband John, Ann Rondou, and Kevin Salaun and his wife Maria; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, parents and sister, Diann was also predeceased by her son Gerard Callahan in 2020.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
