Dina Scecchitano's Obituary
Dina Marca Scecchitano, 55, a resident of Fishkill for 28 years and formerly of Marlboro, died peacefully on September 28, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Brooklyn on July 31, 1961, she was the daughter of Conrad and Josephine (Sorrentino) Tossava. Dina graduated from Marlboro High School, SUNY Cortland and SUNY New Paltz. She had worked as the Director for Reaping the Harvest at St. Mary's Church in Marlboro, and as a Crime Victims' Counselor for Ulster County. She then worked with her husband in their family business as the bookkeeper for Fishkill Roofing & Siding Co. Dina was a devoted parishioner of St. Columba Church and a member of the Columbiettes of St. Mary's Council, Knights of Columbus. She had been leaders for both the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She also enjoyed skiing and dancing, and always planned amazing family parties, picnics and holiday gatherings.
Dina had the most beautiful heart, and her love and faith was seen in everything that she did. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother who will be greatly missed by all.
On June 4, 1988 at St. Mary's Church in Cold Spring, Dina married the love of her life, Dominic Scecchitano. In addition to her husband and parents, Dina is survived by her four children, Carina, Ariana, Dominic and Nicholas; her sisters, Tara Marquis and her husband Tim, and Jenna Orsley; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Dee and Bob Fleming, Richard and Angela DiNapoli; and her nieces and nephews, Timara Marquis, Sean Marquis and his wife Megan, Timothy Marquis and his fiancé Maria Bruno, Dean Marquis, Max Orsley and Jack Orsley.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
