In Loving Memory
Dominick Schiano, a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and man of deep faith, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Dominick spent much of his life in Brooklyn and Staten Island. In 2016, he moved to the Hudson Valley to be closer to his two children, Jason and Erin, and their families. Being close to the people he loved meant everything to him.
Faith was at the center of Dominick's life. He loved going to church and had a strong and unwavering belief in God that guided the way he lived. He was a loving and caring man who consistently put the needs of others before his own. Whether it was family, a friend, or someone who simply needed a helping hand, Dominick was always willing to be there.
Above all, Dominick treasured his family. He was immensely proud of his children and found tremendous joy in being a grandfather and great-grandfather.
Dominick is survived by his children, Jason and his spouse, Leticia, and Erin and her spouse, Vincent; their mother, Patricia; his beloved grandchildren, Briana, Aidan, Daniel, and Charlotte; and his great-grandchildren, Leah and Kai.
Dominick was also a lifelong sports fan and a diehard New York Yankees fan. He loved following his teams, talking sports, and sharing that passion with the people around him.
Those who knew Dominick will remember his kindness, his selflessness, his devotion to his faith, and the love he showed his family throughout his life. His legacy lives on through his family and all those whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved. His family takes comfort in knowing that the faith that sustained Dominick throughout his life now brings him home to God.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville. Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale.
Memorial donations may be made in Dominick's name to the Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation.
