Obituary

POUGHQUAG –Donald Michael DiCarmine, 62, a resident of Poughquag since 1973 and formerly of Carmel, died on Monday, March 21, 2011 at home.

Born in New Rochelle on October 3, 1948, he was the son of the late Dominick DiCarmine and Laura Sibio DiCarmine of St. Louis, MO and Palm Harbor, FL.

Donald was employed as a Master Mechanic in the Operating Engineers Union Local #137 in Briarcliff. He was a union member for over 40 years.

Donald was a member of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction. An avid NY Yankees fan, he was a baseball coach for the Beekman Little League and Senior League. In 2002, he was inducted into the Dutchess County Sports Museum Hall of Fame.

On July 14, 1973 at St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel, Donald married Mary Jane Boccagna, who predeceased him in 2008. He is survived by his children, Denise DiCarmine of Poughkeepsie, Michael DiCarmine of Poughquag and Lauren DiCarmine of Poughkeepsie; his sister Karen Macken-Goodman of St. Louis, MO; his brother Anthony DiCarmine of Indiana; his sister Laurie Ann Stockwell of Palm Harbor, FL; his mother-in-law, Adelaide Boccagna of East Chatam; his sister-in-law, Anne Moore of East Chatam; his brothers-in-law, Stephen Boccagna of Florida, Peter Boccagna of Florida, and Raphael Boccagna of Hudson; and nieces and nephews, Renee Lewis, Stacy Mattingly, Stephanie DiCarmine, and many Boccagna nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow at St. Denis Cemetery.
