Donald F. Emmons, Sr., 87, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1965 and formerly of Watertown, MA, died on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at his home.

Born in Malden, MA on February 26, 1928, he was the son of Allen and Frances Emmons. Don proudly served our country in the US Army with the 88th Division Blue Devils in post WWII Italy. He was employed as a chemical engineer for IBM in East Fishkill for more than 25 years. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. Don achieved life master status as a duplicate bridge player. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader.

On December 27, 1951 in Lowell, MA, Donald married Irene Hogan who predeceased him on January 16, 2015. He was also predeceased by his son, William J. Emmons, on February 27, 2004.

Donald is survived by his son, Donald F. Emmons Jr. of Austin, TX; his daughter, Kathleen S. Macrini and her husband Russell A. of Cold Spring; his brother, David A. Emmons of Stoneham, MA; his sister-in-law, Patricia Hogan of Lowell, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will be in the Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, MA, on Monday at 1 pm.
